“DC Black Pride was the catalyst for what is now referred to as the Black Pride Movement. Since the birth of DC Black Pride, more than thirty other Black Pride celebrations now take place throughout the world, many using DC Black Pride as the model.”
DC DJ India had djed 100s of Black Pride events, and started the world famous DC Black Pride Bar Hop event for women almost 20 years ago. After a 2-year-long hiatus due to the pandemic, she is holding this year’s Bar Hop at the original venues that has drawn thousands of women from around the world. The Bar Hop is the longest running Black Pride event for women in the US.
The Bar Hop started on the U Street historic district. Ladies, we’re taking it back to U Street at the brand spankin’ new, beautiful Club Elements (formerly known as the legendary Republic Gardens).
Afterwards, we’re heading across the street to the afterparty at Pure, where she started her trailblazing, iconic parties. If you didn’t know about the DJ India’s Bar Hop legacy, now ya do!!
Celebrate DC Black Pride with us at the BAR HOP Reunion on Sunday, May 29, 8PM-3AM—LET’S MAKE HISTORY AGAIN!
